Singer & Songwritter
Rev Debbie Long couldn’t sing before the greatest tragedy a mother could experience happened to her. Her son Chris Miles passed peacefully but unexpectedly in his sleep June 19th 2002. What followed was the darkest time of her life. Feeling totally alone and hopeless, she experienced a pain so deep that she truly felt the only way to escape it was death. Through her experience and the teachings she received at Inner Visions Institute for Spiritual Development she found the strength to move through her grief ,to become a life coach and a Reverend of Christ Consciousness and allow the joy within her to surface once again.
Through this process she literally began to sing while driving in her car one afternoon, a song she had never heard before. The sounds coming from her were so foreign yet so very beautiful. She believes she has been blessed by God and her Angel Son Chris with a gift of voice and songs of inspiration for healing that she is to share with the world. And so she has produced her first CD of original music.
Sing Mom Sing: RAW - the CD!
Rev Deb’s CD is called Sing Mom Sing: RAW. Another gift she received from her son was that of after death communications with him and the first words she heard him say to her were Sing Mom Sing so that had to be the title of the CD. The RAW portion of the title symbolizes the fact that it is just Rev Deb’s voice you will hear. The songs that have been channeled through her also touch one's raw emotions so it was a natural addition to the title.
There are songs in support those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. There are true stories of signs from heaven, of compassion, and of forgiveness. There are songs praising Spirit with a heart of pure gratitude.
What Rev Deb wants you to know more then anything is that miracles do happen, that no matter what is happening in your life, joy is a choice, and that she is living proof that behind every dark cloud there truly is a silver lining.
Rev Deb has performed her original works at Fort Campbell, Tenn., and the Memorial Day Celebrations in Washington, DC.
She has shared her stories of grief and healing through her songs and as a guest speaker and workshop facilitator at the following bereavement organization conferences and meetings: T.A.P.S.; Bereaved Parents of USA; Compassionate Friends: M.I.S.S.
Debbie is presently a soloist at the Unity Church of Mississauga and has had the honor of singing at celebration of life ceremonies for those who have transitioned from this physical plane.
Rev Deb finds great joy in singing with such talented musicians in the band Song Dreamer. She does vocals and percussion instruments. Song Dreamer is also preparing to release their first CD November 2008. It is an exciting time for all.
